PAIMI Advisory Council
As required under the Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness (PAIMI) Act, 42 U.S.C. 10801 et seq., the purpose of the Council is to:
- Advise WVA staff and the Board of Directors on policies and priorities to be carried out in protecting and advocating for the rights of individuals with mental illness in West Virginia.
- Complete a section of the annual PAIMI program performance report that describes the activities of the Council and its assessment of the operation and quality of services of the PAIMI Program.
- Work with the Board of Directors and the PAIMI program staff members jointly to develop the annual statement of objectives and priorities for the PAIMI program of WVA.
- Educate the public about WVA's purpose, priorities and activities.
