We want to help:
- If you are having trouble getting services from the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (WV DRS), a Center for Independent Living (CIL), or an Employment Network providing services under the Ticket to Work (EN).
- If you want to appeal a denial of services from the WV DRS, a CIL, or an EN.
- If you think your services have been delayed, interrupted or stopped without cause.
- If there is a problem that you have been unable to work out with your counselor.
- If there are problems with other agencies or facilities which affect your services.
- If you are having difficulty getting a transition plan from school to work.
- If you have been denied employment opportunities.
WVA may be able to help you remove barriers to employment, including:
- Accommodation in the workplace
- Need for assistive technology
- Transportation issues
- Health-related issues
- Employment discrimination
- Lack of Job training or education
- Disclosure of disabilities
- Understanding work incentives
- Understanding your rights as a job applicant
Employment Advocacy Programs
Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security (PABSS)
Protection and Advocacy for Beneficiaries of Social Security was formed in 2001 to help individuals who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) benefits break down the barriers to employment.
Client Assistance Program (CAP)
The purpose of the Client Assistance Program (CAP) is to help people who want to receive services from the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (WV-DRS) or a Center for Independent Living.
