Dear parent,
Researchers from West Virginia University (WVU) are looking for parents of young children with autism for a research study. The study is being done by Mark Clingan (Ed.D.) and Claire St. Peter Pipkin (Ph.D., BCBA-D). The study will teach parents how to run discrete trial instruction programs (also known as ABA therapy), using either written instructions or videos. It should take about a year to finish the study. The study has been approved by the WVU Institutional Review Board (IRB).
To be eligible, parents must:
- Have a child between 18 and 48 months of age who meets the criteria for autism
- Live in West Virginia
- Be willing to participate in the study for a year.
For more information about the study or to sign up to participate, please contact the Center for Excellence in Disabilities at (304) 293-4692, extension 1111. Please say that you are interested in the parent training study.
Thank you,
Claire St. Peter Pipkin, Ph.D., BCBA-D
