Restoring Safety to a Vulnerable Population Workshop

This workshop will explore the intervention of child abuse as it relates to individuals with developmental disabilities. Three presenters will focus on the criminal, preventative, and multi-disciplinary team aspects of the investigation. There will be a combination of lecture, power point and actual case footage utilized in the presentations.
Participants will:
- Gain an increased awareness of the attitudes, unique challenges and considerations in cases involving children with developmental disabilities.
- Learn preventative strategies for vulnerable populations.
- Gain a cognizance of the criminal process & accountability of sex offenders.
- Have a unique opportunity to experience the different perspectives from three multi-disciplinary team members.
