SNAP (Food Stamp) replacement for food lost in storms

Posted: July 9, 2012

Hundreds of thousands of West Virginians lost some or all of their perishable food due to power outages from the massive June 29th storm. Those relying on SNAP benefits now have until July 30th to request replacement benefits to replace their spoiled or otherwise destroyed food. All they need to do is call or go to their local DHHR office to make a request. They will also need to sign and fax, e-mail or deliver in-person the "Request for Replacement of Food Stamp Coupons or Food Purchased With Food Stamp Benefits" Form.

DHHR is also allowing replacement WIC (Women Infants and Children) food benefits.
