  • The Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED)

    For nearly 30 years, the Center has worked with consumers, state, local, and federal agencies to realize opportunities and tackle and overcome challenges for people with developmental and other disabilities of all ages. CED is West Virginia's only federally designated Center for Excellence in Disabilities providing resources and supports in all fifty-five counties of the state.

    The National Disability Rights Network (NDRN) is the nonprofit membership organization for the federally mandated Protection and Advocacy (P&A) Systems and Client Assistance Programs (CAP) for individuals with disabilities.

    West Virginia State disability related links. There are links to dozens of state related disability sites covering all type of disabilities across all age groups. This is a good first stop to learn about disability related programs in West Virginia.

  • West Virginia Legal Aid

    Legal Aid of West Virginia is a law firm and advocacy organization. LAWV serves: low income people with civil (not criminal) legal matters; victims of domestic violence, regardless of income; residents in nursing homes and other long term care settings, and their family members; West Virginians who face challenges brought about by behavioral and mental health disorders.

    The Legal Aid web site also has an excellent library of information that may be useful to you.

  • West Virginia Developmental Disability Council (WV DDC)

    The West Virginia Developmental Disabilities Council was founded to assure that West Virginians with developmental disabilities receive the services and supports they need in order to achieve independence, productivity and inclusion in their communities.

    ICDI stands for the International Center for Disability Information and is a part of the College of Human Resources and Education at West Virginia University. Two main departments at ICDI are the West Virginia Research and Training Center and the Job Accommodation Network.
